About This Event
The Colorado Junior PGA Championship is the PGA of Colorado's official section qualifier for the national Junior PGA Championship, open to both boys and girls competing across a 54-hole stroke play format. Winning this event is one of the most direct paths a Colorado junior golfer can take to a nationally recognized championship stage. For players serious about their competitive development, this is the kind of result that gets noticed by coaches and college programs.
What Advancing Means
The section champion earns an automatic invitation to the Junior PGA Championship at Fields Ranch in Frisco, TX, July 28–31, 2026 — the 50th edition of a national championship whose past winners include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Lexi Thompson. That is not a list you get added to by accident.
Coach's Take
If your junior is ready to compete at a high level and wants a result that opens doors — both nationally and in the recruiting process — this is one of the events I'd put at the top of the summer schedule.

Falling in early July, this championship lands at a point in the junior season when college coaches are actively building their recruiting boards and reviewing summer results. A section title here carries real weight as a recruiting signal heading into the fall evaluation period.
