About This Event
The Kentucky Junior PGA Championship is the Kentucky PGA Section's premier junior stroke play event, open to competitive junior golfers who meet section residency requirements. It serves as the direct qualifier for the national Junior PGA Championship, one of the most recognized junior majors in the country. Earning a spot at the national level is a meaningful milestone that college coaches and recruiting services take seriously.
What Advancing Means
The section champion earns an automatic invitation to the Junior PGA Championship at Fields Ranch in Frisco, TX, July 28–31, 2026 — the 50th anniversary of a national championship whose past winners include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Lexi Thompson. That is a national stage with real history behind it.
Coach's Take
If your son is serious about playing college golf, winning or competing well at a PGA Section championship is exactly the kind of result that shows up in a recruiting conversation and holds weight with coaches who know the junior golf landscape.

This event falls in the heart of the late spring and early summer competitive window, when junior golfers are peaking and college coaches are actively building their recruiting lists.
