About This Event
The Middle Atlantic Junior PGA Championship is the section's qualifier for the national Junior PGA Championship, open to both boys and girls competing for one of the most direct pathways to a national title in junior golf. Held at Dominion Valley Country Club in Haymarket, VA, this two-day stroke play event determines which Middle Atlantic juniors earn the right to compete on a national stage. For serious junior players in the region, this is one of the most meaningful events on the summer calendar.
What Advancing Means
The section champion earns an automatic invitation to the 2026 Junior PGA Championship at Fields Ranch in Frisco, TX, July 28–31 — the 50th anniversary of a championship whose past winners include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Lexi Thompson. That is not a footnote on a resume; it is a defining line.
Coach's Take
If your junior is serious about being recruited and wants national championship experience, this is exactly the kind of event that separates players who compete locally from players who compete at the next level.
About PGA Jr.
PGA Jr. offers competitive junior golf events. Check their tour page for full schedule and eligibility details.
Scheduled at the end of June, this championship lands at a point in the junior season when college coaches are actively building their recruiting lists and evaluating who is competing — and winning — at the section level. A strong finish here, especially a section title, carries real weight heading into the fall recruiting cycle.
