About This Event
The Southern California Junior PGA Championship is the official PGA Section qualifier that determines which boys and girls from SoCal earn a spot in the national Junior PGA Championship. Held over two competitive rounds at Goose Creek Golf Club in Mira Loma, this event draws the strongest junior players in the section competing under real tournament conditions. Advancing to the national stage is a meaningful milestone on any junior's competitive resume.
What Advancing Means
The section champion earns an automatic invitation to the Junior PGA Championship at Fields Ranch in Frisco, TX, July 28–31, 2026 — the 50th anniversary of the championship, which counts among the most significant events on the national junior golf calendar. Past champions of that national event include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Lexi Thompson.
Coach's Take
If your junior is serious about competing at the national level, this is exactly the kind of qualifier you build your early summer schedule around — two rounds, real stakes, and a direct path to a national championship field.
