About This Event
The Texas Girls' Invitational, now in its 17th year, is one of the Texas Golf Association's premier competitive opportunities for junior girls in the state. Held at Horseshoe Bay Resort's Apple Rock Course in the Texas Hill Country, this three-round stroke play event draws some of the top junior female golfers in Texas. A strong finish here builds Junior Golf Scoreboard ranking points, earns AJGA PBE stars, and puts a player's name in front of college coaches actively tracking the Texas junior pipeline.
What Advancing Means
Winning or finishing near the top of this TGA invitational carries meaningful weight on the Junior Golf Scoreboard and contributes AJGA PBE stars that can improve a player's standing for future AJGA event access. For college coaches recruiting Texas talent, a top finish at a TGA-sanctioned invitational signals a player is competing and performing at the state's highest junior level.
Coach's Take
This is exactly the type of event your daughter should be targeting in February — it's competitive enough to matter for rankings and recruiting, early enough in the season to set the tone, and the PBE stars make it doubly valuable if she's working toward AJGA access.
